Love following your newsletter and couldn’t agree more about your views on history. Time changes but people never do, and there’s so much value to studying the past. Looking forward to what 2025 has in store for you.

Hi Eric! As one of the thousands of people who subscribe to your newsletter, I would like to thank you and write why, having millions of other sources of information to choose from, I chose, subscribe to and read your artikyuks - because you create them based on knowledge and information. You give me the opportunity to read the data and draw my own conclusions. Thank you! And keep going :)

Your story is the kind of stuff they make Netflix biopics on.

"Do you really need such a long history section in your articles?” - YES! History is so underrated in these remarks. So many people act surprised because they haven't read into it yet. Can recommend.

Couldn’t agree more.

What a great letter. I love reading the stories about companies and connect them to their numbers. I try to practice what Professor Damodaran teaches in his book, Narrative and Numbers. This part of your letter really struck a home run for me: "The most common piece of constructive feedback I get on my articles is, ”Do you really need such a long history section in your articles?” My response falls along the lines of “It’s really the only thing I need.” To not read biographies, business history, and fundamentals of science is unnecessarily putting yourself at a disadvantage. I really like your comparison of the build out of the electrical rid to the current AI build out. Continue to look back to look forward.

Impressive self analysis of your motivations Eric and love your clearly and simply stated objective. Fresh! Your self deprecating humour in your great articles is a joy. I'm a self confessed life long learner in the field of Communication Sciences and love your affirmation of this attitude. It keeps you humble, open to new ideas and avoids the self-assured hubris so common among prognostications of the flood of financial commentators and economists.
