This is a result of intentional deregulation of energy markets by policymakers. They felt competition would be healthy for markets. I don’t have an opinion on the efficacy of this, but I do know the complicated policies lead to complicated incentives. This is a primary reason energy infrastructure is so hard to build.

Interesting.

If you ever get bored/want to add some variety to your usual sector breakdowns, I would love to read your research on principles- like a survey of different complicated incentives in different industries and their outcomes

DC close to power source is great for training, but when inference is the game may start to see latency issues when you want to be closer to the end users.
